"The Dot"

Today, in KS we read "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds.  After a brief discussion we talked about the term "abstract" and how they were going to make abstract art.   Below, you will see kindergarten hard at work painting their dots.   Their art came out beautiful!!!

Name Sculptures-Grade 5

5th grade is starting off the year working 3-dimensionally.  Through the use of line, shape, color and space, they will construct their names out of paper.  Below you will see the early stages of this project.

16 space wax resist Names-Gr 3

3rd grade started their name designs today on a large piece of paper divided into 16 rectangles.  Each rectangle will hold a letter to their name.  The rules are:  Use varying types of font, use crayon to trace over letters and then to put patterns around letter.   Day 2 will be for painting with watercolor.
